AMP Toolbox

Introduction

 
1. Introduction

One of the most important objectives of the AMP Toolbox is to make available technical assistance (including scientific data, information, assessments, models and tools) to policy-makers to support them drawing up Programs of Measures (PoM’s) and in doing so support adaptive policy-making.
This technical assistance is provided through this Resources section. The purpose of this is to inform the policy-making process and assist the implementation of the different steps and activities defined in the toolbox. Resources include five types of elements:

1. “Knowledge base”
Seven thematic databases of information, specifically tailored to the Mediterranean and Black Sea.

2. “Tools and methods”
Tools and methods selected from different toolboxes or references already available in the literature or on the web. These sources include:
(i) MESMA (Monitoring and Evaluation of Spatially Managed Areas) toolbox
(ii) Marine Scotland Toolbox
(iii) FAO-EAF (Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries) Toolbox

3. “Regional assessments dedicated to the Mediterranean- and the Black Seas”
Region-specific resources and knowledge developed within PERSEUS project. made readily available for potential policy-makers.

4. “Regional models dedicated to the Mediterranean- and the Black Seas”
Region-specific models developed within PERSEUS project. made readily available for potential policy-makers.


5. “Further Readings”
References to key literature regarding the steps and activities defined in the toolbox.
