ADRIPLAN Transnational Conference and Stakeholders Workshop, Rijeka, Croatia

The first ADRIPLAN (ADRiatic Ionian maritime spatial PLANning) project’s event will be held at the City Hall in Rijeka, Croatia on the 28th of February 2014. During the meeting, the project will be presented and the following issues (themes) will be discussed in parallel thematic workshops with the active involvement of all the participants:

1. Transport - Routes and port infrastructures, to strengthen and integrate the system, for goods and passengers
2. Oil & Gas and Energy
3. Coastal defence and protection and Climate Change Adaptation in coastal areas, including strategic sand deposits for beach protection and nourishment
4. Fisheries, aquaculture and Marine Protected Areas
5. Limits and developing of coastal tourism

The event will be just the first occasion of a continuous dialogue with the large community of stakeholders foreseen by the project, and will be based on the results of the EUSAIR consultation recently performed by the EC.

The meeting will be attended by representatives of the European Commission and of the Public Administrations of the Adriatic-Ionian region Countries, by members of the Scientific Community, by other private stakeholders, both private industries and Civil Society Organizations.
