A coordinating meeting among the scientific projects working on the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding coastal areas took place on 26 September 2012, on Mediterranean Coast Day, among the following projects: PERSEUS, PEGASO (http://www.pegasoproject.eu/), SHAPE (http://www.shape-ipaproject.eu/) and MAREMED (http://www.maremed.eu).

The four projects and other initiatives under development and the participants agreed on the options for future collaboration in the area, namely, to:

i. Identify points of contact and synergy on common issues, and develop linkages between projects that mobilize the same stakeholders;

ii. Organize joint meetings (or shared participatory workshops), invite other projects to participate in regional and general meetings;

iii. Share the results and outputs of the projects, as well as publications or databases via the interoperability of information systems;

iv. Expand access to 'human/social' and 'technical/virtual' platforms to support circulation of information.
