Dr. Georgi M. Daskalov, has more than 20 years of experience in fisheries research and ecosystem modelling in the Black, Caspian and North Seas, and the Atlantic Ocean, including food web modelling, natural and anthropogenic effects and regime shifts in the ocean. International experience includes GLOBEC-SPACC. SCOR WG 119, senior UN consultant, EU STECF member and chair of WG on Black Sea fisheries, EU FP EUROGEL, INCOFISH, KNOWSEAS, MEECE.




Dr. Georgi Hiebaum,
is engaged in the Black Sea coastal ecosystems research since 1978. Research fields: functional monitoring in the water column; models of water quality management, benthos habitats. Projects: ERA-ENV, BS-SCENE, Acceptable nutrient load in the coastal zone (Min. of Environment, BG) – Wetland Restoration and Pollution Reduction Project (GEF), Macroalagae and seagrasses habitats (BG Sci Fund), BG marine Natura 2000 sites.




Dr. Ventzislav K. Karamfilov,
has more than 15 years of experience in ecology of the Black Sea coastal marine ecosystems. Research fields: biogeochemistry and microbial diversity within coastal marine sediments, fate of persistent pollutants (OPpesticides, PAHs), key processes in coastal ecosystems functioning. International projects: FP7-BSSCENE, WETLANET.




Dr. Nadezhda Todorova,
molecular biologist experienced in the effects of PAHs pollution on microbial diversity in sediments, elaboration of molecular biomarkers for early warnings.






Dr. Elka Kraleva,
experience in the analytical chemistry of PAHs.

experience in the application of ecological indices for macroalgae state, mapping and distribution
