From September 2013 an App that will inform consumers on microplastics presence in cosmetic products will be available in 4 languages French, English, Spanish and German. 

How it works:
Consumers scan barcodes with a mobile phone and get the information on microplastics presence or absence in the product.

Is it important to participate?
Microplastics, or micro-beads, are found in many products, such as scrubs, toothpaste and shampoo and are tiny, specially-formed pieces of plastic that contain toxic compounds and make their way into the water supply and food chain.

Once they are in the water, they cannot be removed!

The only way to avoid this cycle is prevention!

Will the App be handy to consumers?
The App being available in Dutch since November 2012 has attained 5.000 downloads!
It is estimated that it will reach 100.000 after its availability in 4 more languages in September.
