A successful launch for the first PERSEUS Summer School

The PERSEUS Summer School in Constanta, Romania, started on Monday 3 June and is already off to a great start, as news of its launch has already managed to generate a lot of media attention particularly from the local news websites and TV channels. 

This is the first PERSEUS Summer School, entitled 'The contribution of environmental indices in meeting the objectives and principles of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive', and it is taking place from 3-7 June 2013, in Constanta, Romania.

The intensive summer course is organised by the National Institute for Marine Research and Development (NIMRD) Grigore Antipa, while the planning of the school is jointly done with Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Scienze del Mare (CoNISMa) and the University of Malta (UoM).

For the next few days, young researchers and students from several European countries, including Romania, Turkey, Italy and Spain will seek to identify the problems facing the Black Sea, and attempt to propose solutions and environmental policies.
